Luxury Gas Fire Installation- Moor Park, Hertfordshire

This antique marble fireplace and fire-basket barely require an introduction. Below is some history regarding the origin of each:

Flora, the goddess of flowers, is the theme of this mantelpiece, of late 18th century Neo-classical design. The elegant moulded tiered shelf with dentil decoration, the frieze beautifully carved with a continuous band of foliate swags of flowers upheld by ribbons and centred with flower decorated paterae. The pilaster jambs are decorated with tied ribbons from which fall inverted flowers, the corner blocks with Honeysuckle flowers. The white marble offset by the warm sienna on the in grounds and out grounds.

This richly decorated brass fire basket combines all the best design motifs of the 1770s. Capability Brown was the architect of Croome Court, Worcestershire in the mid 18th Century, while Robert Adam was responsible for the magnificent interior. This fire basket celebrates the tradition of the great English country house.
