We are delighted with the end result here, however this installation is proof that you never know what to expect with installations. When we removed the existing mantel and tried to install a contemporary hole in the wall gas fire we found that the previous owner of the property had built a solid concrete chamber within the existing chimney breast which simply would not budge despite our engineers efforts. Not to be outdone we had a change of tactic and instead managed to not only fit a new mantel but install a contemporary gas fire insert in the process.
